News (or something like it)

04.30.01

It's the last day of April, which means, theoretically, that it shouldn't snow any more until September!

My apologies for the long news bit, Tim is right -- that stuff belongs in babble.

Spring or Summer?

Apparently 2001 is one of those years where we skip spring entirely and go straight into summer.

After weeks of cold and rainy, it looks like we're finally warming up. 70* today, approaching 80* by Sunday.

Which of course, means only one thing...

I RODE MY BIKE TO WORK TODAY!!!!

We Suck

No new news. No new babbles. No new verbatims. No new links. No new porn.

Haven't updated RIAA, haven't posted to the message board.

At least the doodles are still coming through. But that's just because I worked on those last week.

We suck, but the TWINS don't! According to the Strib:

"At 14-3, the Twins have a three-game lead over Cleveland in the division. They set a team record for most victories in April,
and have won four consecutive series for the first time since 1996, when they beat California, Seattle, Oakland and Toronto in
August."

R.I.P. Joey Ramone

Lymphatic cancer, died in New York at the age of 49 (according to Reuters) or 48 (according to the Associated Press.)

Either way, bummer. Their official web site is, duh,
OfficialRamones.com.

More Bizarre

The Minnesota Twins have swept the Detroit Tigers. We're now 6-2 overall and are leading the AL Central with a .750 winning percentage. I love our Twins, but I certainly don't expect them to win. Weird.

Two days into EverQuest and Tim is obsessed. Based on my calculations, he played for 7 1/2hours yesterday. (An hour before work, from 4:30-9:30, and again from 11-12:30.) Send him email urging him to return to his duties of updating GraphicActs!

Twins Win, Again, Tim Disappears

The Minnesota Twins whupped the Detroit Tigers again last night, 8 -2. I know this because I signed up for daily box scores to be emailed to me at the Baseball-Almanac.

Tim got his birthday present from me last night... EverQuest. Send him email urging him to return to his duties of updating GraphicActs!

Baseball, Redux

WE WON. How amazing is that??

Baseball!

It doesn't quite feel like spring here yet. Sure, it's not snowing, but it's still cold, windy and rainy. The kind of weather that passes for winter anywhere south of St. Louis, Missouri.

But we know for sure that it's spring, because today is the Minnesota Twins home opener. (Get the schedule here.) Anyone who says they hate the dome should go to a game today and envision how "real" baseball "outdoors" would feel. Game time is 7:05, sunset is 7:51. If you're lucky, it'll still be 40-45 degrees outside. If you're not, it'll dip below the predicted low of 36 degrees.

Now sit out there for three and a quarter hours, the average length of a baseball game. You think attendance is slim now...

But on a positive note, 5 games in, we're above the mendoza line. Go get em!

Back, Theoretically

Our bodies are in Minnesota, but our souls are still in Las Vegas! We had a great time! Thanks a million to the great folks at the Plaza hotel, yer the best. Thanks to the Shecky Magazine dude and dudess for arranging this shindig. Thanks to all the great folks we met. Etc. and blah blah blah.

Whores. Tits. Cocktails. Massive hard drive bummer. I'll be back soon. Once the hangover clears

Supposedly, We Are Home

As of some ungodly time in the morning. Trip report forthcoming.

Proper Digs

We’re staying in Jackie Gaughan’s Plaza, a monument of "Old Vegas". Who needs silly, leaky, pyramid shaped hotels when you can have the real shebang. CheapoVegas rates it well -- as well as they rate anything! Our friend Dave Mordal, spent his first honeymoon there sometime in the early 1900s. We spent our honey moon at the far superior Polynesian Inn, Wisconsin Dells. Eat your heart out, Dave.

Also, a BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO TIM! SEND HIM AN EMAIL, SHOW HIM YOUR LOVE! Ew, don’t show ME.

-Steph

TITS! We’re gonna see TITS!

Why Are We Here?

I don’t mean the BIG "Why Are We Here?" Question. I mean, "Why are we in Las Vegas?

Besides the obvious -- we crave sleazy entertainment, we’re here for the Shecky Magazine Comics Reunion]. We promise we will tell you all about it when we get home. Every sleazy detail!

-Steph

TITS! We’re gonna see TITS!
